Capital Projects :General Reconstruction. Bidder may not withdraw its bid until forty-five (45) days after the bid opening, except in accordance with General Municipal Law Section 103(11). Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by bid security in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as set forth more fully in the Instructions to Bidders. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or the proposals will be rejected within 45 days of the date of opening proposals. Bids shall be subject, however, to the discretionary right reserved by the School District to waive any informalities in, accept or reject any alternatives, reject any proposals and to advertise for new proposals, if in its opinion the best interest of the School District will thereby be promoted. Under this work the Contractor shall repair deteriorated pavement sections, clean and seal joints and cracks and clean pavement for the installation of new work. B. New work shall be defined as any combination of the following: 1. Repair of asphalt pot holes and deteriorated sections of pavement. 2. New pavement markings 3. Seal coat 4. Asphalt overlay Under this work, the Contractor shall furnish and apply pavement marking paint at locations in accordance with the patterns indicated on the plans or as directed by the Architect, and in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and these specifications. B. This work shall also include the cleaning and preparation of pavement surfaces and the maintenance and protection of traffic markings during marking operations.
