Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows but not limited to: 1. Installation of (2) 750 GPM Booster Pumps 2. Cement Slab 3. Building 4. Electrical 5. Relating Piping 6. All necessary appurtenances. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid for those contracts that exceed $100,000. A certified check or bank draft payable to Val Verde County or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The successful Offeror must furnish Performance and Payments Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner. Awarded contractor shall be required to furnish bonds within thirty (30) days from the contract date and before any commencement of work. All addenda issued for this project will be posted on online. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Contractor's must comply with the requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, 41 USC 8301 note, and all applicable rules and notices, as may be amended, for Val Verde County's infrastructure project, including all iron and steel, metals other than iron or steel (non-ferrous metals), lumber, composite building materials, and plastic and polymer-based pipe and tube materials, including PVC pipe. Any funds obligated under this grant agreement are subject to BABA requirements. Contractors must ensure that the required items used in the project are produced in the United States. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
