Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Highland Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
The Park District of Highland Park is seeking sealed bids for the following scope of work: Renovation of the locker room shower areas with consideration for improvements including grooming stations, saunas and new entry doors at Park Fitness (1207 Park Avenue West, Highland Park, Illinois). The scope of work includes all necessary workmanship to satisfactorily complete the work as required by the contract documents. Work will start Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and conclude by Friday, August 14, 2026. Contractors bidding on the project must have a minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the work or similar. The Work is defined by the Contract Documents and involves but is not limited to the following: Locker Room Renovation at the Park Fitness facility of the Park District of Highland Park. Scope includes the renovation of the shower areas with consideration for improvements including grooming stations, saunas and new entry doors. SITE LOCATION: Park Fitness 1207 Park Avenue West Highland Park, IL 60035 Questions regarding this bid should be directed to Casey Lawler at 847.579.3106 or clawler@pdhp.org. alternate no. 1: grooming area renovation with storage buildout base bid: no work at the men's and women's first bay of lockers immediately adjacent (east) of the shower areas. the locker room areas with all lockers should be partitioned off and protected from damage during the renovations to the showers areas. through access between the locker room areas and the remainder of park fitness shall be coordinated with the park district. alternate: demolish first bay of lockers (easternmost) in both the men's and women's locker rooms for a renovation to include wet and dry grooming stations, storage room and furniture, fixtures & equipment as shown on the drawings. the storage rooms (rooms b-45a & b-57a) buildouts shall include sauna infrastructure requirements as shown on the mep drawings). alternate no. 2: sauna rooms (b-45a & b-57a) buildouts (requires acceptance of alternate 1) base bid: no work for a sauna installation. however, if alternate no. 1 is approved, the areas designated as storage room (b-45a & b-57a) shall be outfitted with the necessary infrastructure for a future sauna buildout per the mep drawings. alternate: in lieu of the finishes and door installations associated with storage rooms (b-45a & b-57a) of alternate 1, the rooms shall be outfitted with a sauna room kit as shown on the drawings and specifications for saunas. alternate no. 3: locker room entrances renovations (doors b-43a & b-56a) base bid: finishes renovations only as shown on the drawings leading up to the locker room exit of each locker room in their existing layout. alternate: demolish existing doors and walls as shown on the drawings in the areas of each locker room entrance (men 's & women's locker rooms) and reconfigure entrances as shown on the drawings. alternate no. 4: plastic partitions base bid: provide glass shower partitions as shown on the drawings and in the specifications. alternate: substitute plastic shower partitions in lieu of glass partitions per the 102116.19 plastic shower and dressing compartments specification section.
