Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a fitness / recreation center; fitness / recreation center; and educational facility.

The scope of work is for labor and materials required for the construction of two new Locker Rooms and a Fitness Center. Work includes limited interior remodeling. It will be a contractor's choice to start work this fall or begin in the spring of 2026. Interior work to be completed by August 10th, 2026, with Substantial completion by November 1st, 2026. It will be paramount to work with the school to accommodate student activities throughout the project. All divisions of the work are to be included in one prime construction contract. Work can start immediately upon submission of approved contract documents. Bid proposals shall be submitted to the Waubay School Board in sealed envelopes clearly marked: "Bid for Waubay School Locker Room and Fitness Center Addition to be opened Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 7:00 PM. central time".Faxed bids will not be accepted; however, faxed bid adjustments will be accepted until the time of bid opening. Fax adjustments to 605-947-4243. Faxed adjustments must be followed up with a signed hard copy mailed to Waubay School District's Finance Office - Attn: Marie Hlavacek. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or draft in the amount of 5% of the base bid, plus all add alternates, or a 10% bid bond issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and made payable to the "Waubay School District #18-3, Waubay, South Dakota". The Waubay School Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities therein.
