Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Helena, Montana. Conceptual plans call for site work for a one-story above grade road / highway; one-story above grade bridge / tunnel; and one-story above grade sidewalk / parking lot.
The project consists of providing NEPA analysis/documentation and preliminary engineering services for the Montana Avenue Grade Separation Project. The objective is to complete a comprehensive NEPA evaluation and preliminary engineering design, including assessment and engineering for alternatives to ensure an overpass is the preferred separated crossing alternative. The main components are preparation of all NEPA documents (including all required environmental, Section 106, and cultural assessments), and the 30% design of a roadway/railroad grade separation and a two-lane roundabout adjacent to the five-point intersection south of the crossings. The consultant will be responsible for detailed project work planning, environmental evaluation, traffic studies, community involvement, topographic surveys, preliminary plan development, opinion of costs, utility impacts analysis, property acquisition needs evaluation, and coordination with relevant agencies. All work must be performed in accordance with NEPA, FHWA, FRA, state, and local standards and requirements. Construction of the project will be subject to future procurement.
