Site work and renovation of a civil project in Anniston, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
As of December 17, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. A summary of the work items is included below: Construction of a new duplex submersible pump station to completely replace the existing pump station, including a new doghouse manhole, new wet well, new submersible pumps and controls, new valve vault, associated piping, elevated grating structure with steps, and new electrical service connection and equipment. Complete removal of one tree in the construction area prior to April 1, 2026, in keeping with bat habitat regulations and related miscellaneous site work, including minor grading with installation of a new driveway culvert pipe and gravel drive The contract time for the work included in this contract is two hundred seventy (270) Calendar Days. The Contract will be subject to Liquidated Damages of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per calendar day for each day in default after the stipulated substantial completion date. The contract time will begin on the date specified in the written Notice to Proceed All bids shall be in compliance with and subject to the guidelines and requirements of Alabama State Code. Each bidder must deposit with his bid a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, but in no event more than $10,000, payable to Anniston Waterworks & Sewer Board as bid security. Prior to the start of work, the successful bidder shall furnish a Proof of Insurance, along with Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract amount awarded Anniston Waterworks & Sewer Board reserves the right to determine responsible bidders, responsive bids, the lowest and best bid, reject any and all bids, award to the bidder believed most advantageous to Anniston Waterworks & Sewer Board, and to waive any informalities in the bids and bidding process Should a BIDDER find discrepancies in, or omissions from, the drawings or specifications or should they be in doubt asto their written meaning, they should at once notify the ENGINEER, who willsend a written instruction orinterpretation to all known holders of the documents. The ENGINEER will not be responsible for any oral instructions. This work consists of furnishing, constructing and maintaining wattles for the retention of soil along the toe of fill slopes, around inlets, swale areas, small ditches, sediment basins and other areas as directed by the Contracting Officer in accordance with the requirements shown on the plans and these specifications. Also, the work includes removing and disposing of the erosion checks and silt accumulations as directed by the Contracting Officer. This work consists of furnishing, constructing and maintaining a water permeable filter type fence for the purpose of removing suspended soil particles from the water passing through it in accordance with the requirements shown on the plans and these specifications. B. It is understood that measurement and payment for silt fence will be made only when ordered. The quantities are estimated for bidding purposes only, and may be varied dependent upon actual conditions which occur during construction of the project.
