Site work for a water / sewer project in North Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Work Description: Provide all labor, services and materials necessary for the construction of 6-inch, 16-inch, 18-inch, and 24-inch DIP water main installed by open cut and horizontal directional drilling construction methods, including: pavement removal; trench excavation; water main pipe materials and installation; valves and valve vaults; fire hydrant assemblies including hydrant and auxiliary valve; water service connections; pipe bedding; trench backfill; pavement replacement; driveway replacement; curb and gutter replacement; parkway restoration; traffic control; water main pressure testing and disinfection; and all other work necessary for a complete and functional water main installation as shown, specified, or required. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft, cashier's check or certified check payable to the order of the City of North Chicago in an amount not less than ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid, as a guaranty that the bidder will execute the contract, if it is awarded, in conformity with the bid form. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Completion and Payment Bonds on forms provided in the Specifications and Contract Documents, each in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract sum. MBE (19.6%), WBE (6.9%) Completion-(180) calendar days This proposed Foss Park Elevated Water Tower and proposed new 24 inch Transmission Force Main project will be constructed at Foss Park within the City of North Chicago, Lake County, Illinois. The proposed 2 million gallon Elevated Water Tower will be constructed near the southwest corner of the city property located between the Foss Park Golf Course to the West and the surrounding residential neighborhood to the East and South of the project site location. The proposed 24 inch diameter Water Transmission Force Main will be constructed along 20 th Street for approximately 523 linear feet from the location of the proposed Elevated Water Tower to Natoma Avenue and along the vacated Hillcrest Avenue for approximately 452 linear feet from the proposed Elevated Water Tower to 20 th Place.
