Site work for a transportation facility in Orillia, Ontario. Design plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The City of Orillia is seeking to retain an Architect as Prime Consultant for a new Transit Terminal to deliver pre-design, schematic, design development, construction documents, construction procurement, construction contract administration, commissioning and closeout and warranty services. The project will be delivered using the Design-Bid-Build method. Throughout the duration of the Project, Orillia City Council will be engaged at key decision points to provide direction and formal approvals on design. The Prime Consultant will be responsible for developing three (3) distinct design concepts upon the completion of the Schematic Design phase. Each concept will include high-level cost estimates and will be presented to City Council for review. Based on this presentation, the City will select a preferred design option and provide direction on associated budget considerations. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals (RFP) for a prime consultant has recently been awarded by the owner. Design will proceed to approx. the fourth quarter of 2026. Pending completion of the design as well as owner's decision to proceed, tender is expected in the first quarter of 2027. Further update summer/fall 2026. *Project construction budget will be targeted at 10 million.
