Isle of Wight County Schools is soliciting lump sum, sealed bids for the demolition and new work renovations required to convert the existing mechanical room into a new band room at Smithfield High School. Any questions regarding this invitation to bid should be directed in writing to Chris Gossett at cgossett@rrmm.com and Christopher Coleman, IWCS Deputy Superintendent of Operations at ccoleman@iwcs.k12.va.us The scope of work involves the demolition & new construction including all architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and structural work necessary to convert an existing mechanical room into a new Band Room at Smithfield HighSchool. The existing mechanical equipment has already been demolished and removed from the site. The project also includes converting an existing adjacent classroom into the instrument and uniform storage associated with the band room. The scope includes concrete slab replacement, patching and repair work, demolition and replacement of walls, ceilings, and floor finishes as noted in the contract documents. A new HVAC system to support the new use of the space. New acoustic wall panels and all new finishes within the renovated spaces. New hollow metal doors, frames, aluminum storefront, hardware and access controls are included. Minor exterior wall and roof work is included in the scope to accommodate electrical and mechanical work required for this alteration as noted in the bid documents. Project Location: 14171 Turner Dr., Smithfield, Virginia 23430. Work at the site shall commence on approximately January 15, 2026, or shortly thereafter. The Owner anticipates the Award of this contract or the issuance of the Notice-Of-Award on or before January 8, 2026. All work shall be Substantially Complete no later than May 1, 2026 and 100% Final Completion shall be achieved no later than June 1, 2026.
