Bids should be submitted in sealed envelopes marked with the bidder's name, project identification, bid package number, bid opening date and time, and addressed to McFarland Unified School District. Alternate bids, if called for, do not affect the determination of the lowest bid, which will be based solely on the base contract price. No alternates are requested for this project. There is no required job walk unless specified by the owner. No deposit is required for plans, which are available online or for purchase. This is a prevailing wage project, and contractors and any subcontractors must pay not less than the specified prevailing wage rates. A Payment Bond is required for contracts over $25,000 and a Performance Bond is required for all contracts. Bidders must possess the appropriate and active contractor's license for their scope of work and must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to perform public work. Contractors and all subcontractors must furnish electronic certified payroll records in PDF format. The owner will retain 5% from progress payments. All applicable prequalification requirements must be met for certain contractor license classifications on state funded projects of $1,000,000 or more.
