Renovation of a municipal facility in Columbia, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Scope of Work The objective of this project is to transform the existing kitchen facility at Rapid Shelter Columbia into a fully operational commercial kitchen, capable of supporting large-scale meal preparation and job training programs. The renovation will include construction modifications, infrastructure upgrades, and the installation ugrade equipment to meet safety, health, and operational standards. . Pre-Construction Planning & Design Conduct detailed planning, site evaluation, and layout review to optimize the design and ensur efficient placement of commercial appliances. Prepare construction drawings and documentation to guide project execution. Coordinate all trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction) and ensure adherence to local building codes. HVAC & Ventilation Installation Install a 4 x 8 commercial exhaust hood with integrated fire suppression system to provide proper entilation and meet commercial kitchen safety codes. System will be designed to handle heat and exhaust generated from high-performance cooking equipment, ensuring safe indoor air . There shall be additional sixty (60) consecutive calendar days added for contract closeout such as providing as built , testing, invoicing, liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty) Contractor shall pay Owner ($250.00) per day for each calendar day of delay until the Work is complete. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence, submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the contract and to complete the work contemplated therein. It is the goal of the City of Columbia, SC to maximize opportunities for historically Disadvantaged Enterprise Business Enterprises (DBEs) including, but not limited to, Small Business (SBEs), Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBEs). The City has implemented an overall citywide 15% goal to encourage socially and economically disadvantaged business participation. In an effort to encourage socially and economically disadvantaged business participation, this goal extends to Bidders, Offerors, Subcontractors and suppliers on its procurement and contracting offerings.
