Since the implementation of Flood Control program in 2013 (West Thornhill and Markham Village), the City has been upgrading (by repair or replacement) its aging storm sewers. This is a long-term project of upgrading the existing storm sewers in the flood prone area. The project is part of Markham's Stormwater Management Strategy and incorporates a coordinated approach to mitigate construction impacts by including the construction of other substandard infrastructure including; sanitary sewers, watermains and road infrastructure. Only prequalified contractors under this RFPQ will be eligible to submit a Bid for future upgrading of storm/sanitary sewers and watermains. The award of the Contract will be based on the best value for the City based upon quality, service, price and overall life cycle assessment of the renewal. The award is subject to the City's budget restrictions, limitations and approvals. Question Deadline 12/04/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Bid questions and submissions are to be submitted through electronically. The City anticipates issuing a minimum of one (1) Request for Tender (RFT) per year during the term of the pre-qualification. The estimated contract value of each RFT will range between $15 to $30 million dollars *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
