Project Location: Near the intersection of Avenue 21 and Chowchilla Bypass The project includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment for the construction of a water pipeline and turnouts including the piping, pump (or lift) station, control boxes, agricultural turnouts, basin turnouts, diversions, valves and fittings, trench excavation and backfill, and paving repairs as described in the Plans and Specifications. All work must be performed in accordance with the Project Manual Construction Documents. The Base Bid consists of all work associated with the Clayton and Menefee System and Haynes System within Madera County. Additive Alternate 1 consists of all work associated with the Vlot System within Madera County. Additive Alternate 2 consists of all work associated with construction of a monitoring well as described in Appendix A. Each bid must conform and be responsive to all contract documents, plans, and specifications. Examination Of Site: It is recommended that each bidder examines the site of work before bidding and shall be responsible for having acquired full knowledge of the job and of all problems affecting it. No variations or allowances from the contract sum will be made because of lack of such examination. County can accommodate site visits if needed, coordinate with Project Manager. Contractors License: The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class A license or necessary permit(s) at the time this Project is bid. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the appropriate classification(s) of contractor's license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license throughout the duration of the Contract Bidders must submit sealed bids through the designated electronic platform by the specified deadline. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is required. Bid security of at least 10% of the maximum bid amount is required. Performance and Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the successful bid are required upon award. Bidders must possess a valid California Class A or appropriate contractor's license at the time of bidding and throughout the contract. Bidders must comply with prevailing wage requirements, submit evidence of registration with the Department of Industrial Relations, and provide electronic certified payroll records. Each bid must include a list of subcontractors for work in excess of half a percent of the total bid. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
