Demolition, site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
**As of February 17, 2026, all bids rejected. No plans to rebid the project.** The scope of work consists of demolition and replacement of a ~90 self-weathering-steel pedestrian bridge over the Miami & Erie Canal. General construction includes erosion control; crane service; replacement bridge; concrete abutment; cast-in-place concrete bridge deck; repair seeding and mulching. The bidder must be an Ohio Department of Transportation pre-qualified contractor, with pre-qualification status in force at the time of bid, at the time of award, and through the life of the construction contract. Each bidder must furnish a bid guaranty either in the form of a bond for the full amount of the bid or a certified check, cashiers check, or irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to ten percent of the bid with its bid.
