Site work for a mixed-use development in Suffolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and museum.
the City is seeking a qualified firm to provide all plant, labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, and all other incidentals, to install an eight foot diameter Downstream Defender hydrodynamic separator within the Stormwater system at the Suffolk Seaboard Railroad Museum parcel as well as replace the failing Stormwater infrastructure in the area to the limits shown and in accordance with all specification, terms, conditions, and drawings herein. Question Deadline 01/01/2026 Questions concerning this project must be in writing and addressed to the Contract Officer stated herein; and must be received no later than five (5) business days preceding the date that the bids are accepted. Contractor will be required to place order for Hydrodynamic Separator within fifteen calendar days of contract execution. If said work is not substantially complete within 120 calendar days after receipt of Hydrodynamic Separator, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount in accordance with VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications Table I-1, Section 108.06 per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work remains substantially incomplete. The Purchasing Agent, Jay Smigielski, CPPO is the Contract Officer for the City of Suffolk with respect to this IFB. All questions and/or comments should be directed to him at this email address: jsmigielski@suffolkva.us The respondents to this IFB shall not contact, either directly or indirectly, any other employee or agent of the City regarding this IFB. Any such unauthorized contact may disqualify the bidder from the procurement. Furnish all labor and materials to construct the project as indicated on the Contract Documents. Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Installation and maintenance of required erosion and sediment control measures. 2. Demolition of selected site features. 3. Selective clearing. 4. Earthwork. 5. Replacement of stormwater structures. 6. Installation of hydrodynamic separator (HDS) 7. Placing topsoil, seed, mulch and fertilize disturbed areas as required. 8. Coordination with additional subcontractors, separate contractors, and City Inspectors. 9. Cleanup and disposal of all construction materials and debris. 10. Communication with railroads
