Rehabilitation of bridge structure BF78357. The bridge is located 31 KM south of Cadomin, Alberta (NE 22-45-22-W5M) on a tributary to the Cardinal River and carries Graves Flats Road. The existing structure is a 6.1 m long HC-type precast concrete girder bridge supported by a treated timber substructure. It is square to the roadway, with a 6.5 m wide deck and an average deck-to-streambed height of 2.9 m. Constructed in 1961, the structure is now over 60 years old and has exceeded its expected service life by more than a decade. Current traffic volumes are very low, with usage primarily during summer months by tourists and recreational visitors for activities such as camping, off-road vehicle use, and fishing in the surrounding scenic areas. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals from engineering consultants is underway. The project is expected to be tender-ready in November 2026. Tender and construction timelines are subject to funding approvals in 2027. *Budget is unreleased.
