Approximately 205 dry tons of commercial liquid aluminum sulfate (liquid alum) are to be delivered in tank trucks as required into two 5,000 gallon storage tanks at the Queensbury Water Treatment Plant. The product must be 48.5% liquid aluminum sulfate, meet or exceed the current American Water Works standard B403 for Aluminum Sulfate, and be certified under ANSI/NSF standard 60 for Water Treatment Chemicals. The product must be manufactured domestically using Aluminum Trihydroxide (ATH) or equivalent refined-aluminum source and sulfuric acid, contain a minimum of 8.3% alumina (Al2O3), have a pH of 2.1-2.5, not contain any free acid, and comply with the latest AWWA B403 standards. The vendor must provide training for the treatment staff, semi-annual jar test optimization services, and a designated sales representative who can arrive at the plant within 4 hours. A Certificate of Analysis (including iron content) must be provided for the product. Same day emergency delivery is required at no extra cost. If there is a change of supplier and product, the new vendor is responsible for cleaning the bulk storage tanks before introducing the new product. The award will go to the responsible low bidder who meets all specifications. Prices should be per net ton, dry basis, delivered, with lead time at least 96 hours. The bid price must be firm for one year, with possibility of extension for up to two additional years upon mutual agreement.
