Site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Irvine, California. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
**As of March 31, 2026, The project has been cancelled, and a new project has been created.** The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to Reinforced concrete bridge abutment construction; reinforced concrete bridge superstructure; bridge curb/barrier with stainless steel railing with incorporated safety lighting; accent lighting, electrical work; concrete approach slabs; signing; striping; clearing and grubbing; asphalt and concrete removal; unclassified excavation; miscellaneous base and structural backfill; fine grading; asphalt paving; water quality BMP installation; and other items not mentioned here, but are required by the plans and the specifications. The engineer's construction cost estimate for this project is $5,770,000 (rounded to the nearest ten thousand) The work includes, but is not limited to: storm drain lateral relocation, construction of the Bosque Pedestrian-Bike Bridge, construction of median curb and gutter, striping, and other related items required by the Project Plans, Project Specifications, and Special Provisions. Prevailing wage requirements apply. The contractor must comply with all applicable California Labor Codes and pay not less than the specified prevailing wage rates. Bidders with the three lowest responsive bids must deliver an original hard copy of the certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond to the Purchasing Representative within five business days of the bid opening date. Failure to submit the original document may result in the bid being declared non-responsive. The project is subject to the Community Workforce Agreement between the City and the Los Angeles/Orange County Building and Construction Trades Council. A signed Letter of Assent must be submitted with the bid proposal packet. Contractors that are not signatory with one of the unions must register their own workers with the appropriate union hall and provide a Core Employees List to the CWA Administrator.
