Renovation of a municipal facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Seeking quotations from qualified contractors for Repairs to the Alberta Infrastructure Data Center at Alberta Infrastructure Building, Edmonton. This work involves the removal and replacement of existing condenser heat exchangers on a Multistack modular chiller system to restore optimal performance and efficiency as well as investigate and cleaning of a heat exchanger that has a low leaving alarm. Work will be performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and site safety requirements. Pre-Work Activities o The contractor will be required to Isolate chiller and lockout/tagout electrical and water systems of the unit. o Drain condenser water circuit and recover any refrigerant as per environmental regulations. o Inspect surrounding components for wear or damage. Removal o Disconnect water piping, sensors, and electrical connections from the existing heat exchanger as required . o Remove mounting hardware and safely extract old heat exchangers. o Dispose of old unit(s) in compliance with local environmental regulations. Required work : o Replace two Condenser Heat Exchanger on Chiller 1 Module 4 (includes Circuit 4A & 4B) and Module 5 (includes Circuit 5A & 5B) o Replace one Condenser Heat Exchanger on Chiller 3 Module 2 (includes Circuit 2A & 2B) Total Number of Heat Exchangers: 3 Part(s) information reference: SWEP Dover Company TYPE: DB400Hx182/1P-SC-M Item Number: HEATEX600 SWEP No: 0151930.0 o Position and secure new condenser heat exchangers using proper lifting equipment and safe work practices. o Reconnect water piping, sensors, and electrical connections as required. o Replace gaskets, seals, and insulation as required. o Additional work to be performed to make the heat exchanger operational o Chiller 2 Module 6 - low leaving chiller water alarm: Chemical cleaning as per manufactures recommendation and specification to be completed on evaporator heat exchanger, and investigate cause of the alarm and provide repair recommendations only. Testing & Commissioning o Refill and purge refrigerant system as needed. o Perform pressure and leak tests on water and refrigerant circuits. o Verify proper flow rates and temperature differential. o Restart chiller and monitor operation. o Document all readings and provide commissioning report. Deliverables o Installed and operational condenser heat exchanger(s) on chillers 1 & 3. o Test and commissioning report. o Provide recommendations for repair after investigation on Chiller 2 module 6 only o Disposal of old equipment. Safety & Compliance o Follow site-specific safety protocols and PPE requirements. o Comply with Alberta OH&S requirements, local codes, and environmental regulations for refrigerant handling. o Ensure all lifting and rigging operations meet safety standards. o Contractor to abide by all BGIS safety requirements. o A vendor who is awarded the project must be or become compliant with BGIS o The vendor at no time will place the Data Center at risk of not being operational.
