The scope of work includes replacing two undersized Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) supporting the SPS fan and motor system at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. The existing VFDs, currently ACH-550-031A-4 models, will be replaced with ACH-550-045A-4 or equivalent models to provide a larger current capacity while maintaining the existing 25 HP fan motor. The contractor shall reuse the existing disconnect switch and conductors, as well as the existing frame, since the new VFD model fits the same frame size. After installation, the VFDs must be tuned and programmed to operate up to 90Hz, integrated with the Siemens control system, and validated with the VA point of contact. The final operating setpoint for the fan will be 71Hz. Replacement must be performed in sequence to maintain continuous operation of the air handler throughout the process. Location: Washington DC VA Medical Center, 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20422. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
