Site work, new construction and renovation of an educational facility in Greenville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The following Bid Package did not open on 1/22/2026. These packages will re-bid on 1/29/2022. The time and location remain the same. 0150 General Trades 0600 Millwork 0790 Caulking and Waterproofing 0990 Painting and Coatings 1000 Specialties 1235 Lab Casework 1220 Window Treatment 3231 Fencing and Gate A. The work covered in this Specification consists of furnishing all labor, material, and services to install Conduit, back boxes, and Cabling. Refer to drawings for device locations. A. Work Included: 1. Furnishing of all laboratory chemical fume hoods, lab service fittings and miscellaneous items of equipment in these specifications or equipment schedules including delivery to the building, setting in place, leveling and scribing to walls and floors as required. Divisions 22, 23 and 26 shall be responsible for final connections of the laboratory fume hoods and accessories specified herein. 2. Furnishing and delivery of all utility service outlet accessory fittings as listed in these specifications, equipment schedules or as indicated by drawings as mounted on the laboratory furniture. The above-defined items shall be furnished assembled with supply tank nipples and lock nuts, not attached, loose in boxes and properly marked for delivery to the mechanical contractor (except for pre-wired or pre-plumbed items such as fume hoods, which are to be delivered completely assembled). All plumbing and electrical fittings will be packaged separately and properly marked for delivery to the appropriate contractor. 3. Furnishing and delivering, packed in boxes for installation by the contractor, all drains, drain troughs, overflows and sink outlets with integral tailpieces, which occur above the floor, and where these items are part of the equipment or listing in the specifications, equipment schedules or indicated by the drawings. Integral tailpieces, when required, shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's standards. All tailpieces shall be furnished less the couplings required to connect them to the drain piping system. 4. Furnishing service strip supports where specified, and setting in place service tunnels, service turrets, supporting structures and reagent racks of the type indicated by the details. B. Work Not Included in this Sections 1. Equipment, materials and labor which are the responsibility of other subcontractors, as determined by the General Contractor may include the following: a. Electrical receptacles, except where integral to the fume hood. b. Plumbing fittings not included in this section, vacuum breakers (except in-line vacuum breakers specified in this section), piping or other plumbing features, as required to meet local code authority requirements. c. Furnishing, installing and connecting of ducts from fume hood's duct collar to fans and from fans to the atmosphere. d. Furnishing, installing and connecting of fume hood fans. A. Work Included: 1. Furnishing all laboratory cabinets and casework, including lab countertops, lab sinks, ledges, supporting structures, lab service fittings and miscellaneous items of equipment as listed below and in these specifications or equipment schedules including delivery to the building, setting in place, leveling and scribing to walls and floors as required. Furnish and install all filler panels (FP), knee space panels and scribes as indicated by drawings. Divisions 22, 23 and 26 shall be responsible for final connections of the laboratory sinks, laboratory fixtures and accessories specified herein. a. Suspended Stainless Steel Casework b. Flammable Base Cabinets c. Mobile Cabinets d. Mobile Tables e. Laboratory Countertop Surfaces & Backsplashes f. Laboratory Sinks g. Laboratory Plumbing & Electrical Fittings h. Laboratory Casework Accessories 2. Removal of all debris, dirt and rubbish accumulated as a result of the installation of the laboratory furniture, leaving the premises clean and orderly. A. This Section specifies materials, methods, and equipment to be used for automatic sprinkler system and related fire protection piping to 12" above the finished floor inside building. B. NFPA 13's seismic requirements are not part of this project. C. This is not a Factory Mutual Global (FMG) protected property. D. As shown on drawings, system(s) shall consist of: 1. Automatic fire protection system which consist of: a. Automatic wet sprinkler system(s) E. Each wet pipe zone shall begin with: 1. Indicating-type floor control valve with supervisory switch 2. Check valve (required on combined standpipes) 3. Pressure gauge 4. Waterflow switch 5. Inspector's test and drain assembly F. Engineer of Record: 1. Contractor shall be Engineer of Record. Contractor shall produce stamped and sealed installation drawings, which are also referred to as shop drawings in this Section, based on design criteria listed in this Section and drawings furnished by Engineer. Contract drawings show zone and main piping layouts of fire protection systems as it relates to architecture, structure, and mechanical/electrical systems. G. This Section specifies design criteria for fire protection system for this building. Sprinkler zones and main piping layouts of the fire protection system have been established for information purpose only, as it relates to architecture, structure and mechanical/electrical systems in this building by Specifying Engineer. Other layouts shall be produced by Contractor, based on these layouts. A. Intent of drawings and Specifications is to obtain complete systems, tested, adjusted, and ready for operation. B. The terms "provide", "furnish" and "install" as used in Contract Documents shall have the following meanings: 1. "Provide" or "provided" shall mean "furnish and install". 2. "Furnish" or "furnished" does not include installation. 3. "Install" or "installed" does not include furnishing. C. Include incidental details not usually shown or specified, but necessary for proper installation and operation. D. Check, verify and coordinate work with drawings and specifications prepared for other trades. +Include modifications, relocations or adjustments necessary to complete work or to avoid interference with other trades. E. Information given herein and on drawings is as exact as could be secured but is not guaranteed. +Do not scale drawings for exact dimensions. F. Where Architectural features govern location of work, refer to architectural drawings. G. Contractor may install additional piping, fittings and valves, not shown on drawings, for testing purposes or for convenience of installation. Where such materials are installed, they shall comply with specifications and shall be sized to be compatible with system design. Remove such installed materials when they interfere with design conditions or as directed by Designer. A. Provide insulating materials and accessories as required for mechanical systems as specified below. B. Insulating products delivered to construction site shall be labeled with manufacturer's name and description of materials. A. This Section covers interior domestic cold water, domestic hot water (120-140F), domestic hot water return, +tempered water, cold soft water, and nonpotable cold water to a point 5 ft outside building wall. B. All components shall comply with NSF 61+and NSF 372++to be compliant with requirement for lead content of <=0.25% maximum weighted average. A. Provide all supporting devices not provided as part of building structure or indicated on structural drawings or structural details, as specified and as required for proper supporting, anchoring, and guiding of piping, equipment, materials and systems. B. Support for all conditions of operation, including variations in installed and operating weight of equipment, piping and ductwork, to prevent excess stress and allow for proper expansion and contraction. A. This Contractor shall be responsible for providing complete testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) work for HVAC hydronic systems, such as chillers, pumps, convertors and other processes included in this project. B. Work required shall consist of setting volume flow rates and adjusting speed controls, recording data, making tests, and preparing reports, as specified herein. C. Scope of work includes TAB of new work specified herein and includes all equipment, distribution systems, and terminal units connected. D. TAB work shall be performed by persons trained in TAB work and certified by Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) or National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB). +Procedures shall be in accordance with the latest edition of AABC, NEBB or TABB Standards, ASHRAE (HVACA)-2015+Chapter 38, and as detailed herein. E. Mechanical Contractors who are members of AABC, NEBB or TABB and who have qualified personnel available to perform work may submit Quality Assurance Submittal for approval. +Mechanical Contractors who cannot meet these requirements shall subcontract with independent TAB Contractor who meets these requirements. +TAB subcontractor shall prepare Quality Assurance Submittal for Contractor who will submit it for approval. F. Upon direction of Designer or TAB subcontractor, Mechanical Contractor shall provide at no additional cost to Owner, any additional work and/or devices necessary to properly balance system, including calibrated balancing valves, gauge tappings, flow sensors, and thermometer wells. +Mechanical Contractor shall be responsible for trimming and balancing pump impellers as necessary to obtain design pump flow rates at the minimum pressure differential. G. TAB work shall not proceed until all assigned personnel have been approved by Designer via Quality Assurance Submittal. +Coordinate each phase of TAB work with overall project schedule. +Each phase of TAB work shall be done in timely manner as detailed herein. +Fieldwork must be completed before occupancy. + A. Section includes surface metallic raceway system for branch circuits, data network,and other low voltage wiring. B. Surface raceway system shall consist of raceway bases, appropriate fittings, and device mounting plates necessary for a complete installation. C. The lengths of the raceways shown on drawings are illustrative and diagrammatic only and are not accurate. Raceways shall be provided completely installed to match lengths of cabinets and shelving as indicated on (laboratory) casework shop drawings. Receptacle circuits shall be prewired. A. Section includes the following: 1. Identification for raceway and metal-clad cable 2. Identification for conductors and communication and control cable 3. Underground-line warning tape 4. Warning labels and signs 5. Instruction signs and posted drawings 6. Equipment identification nameplates 7. Wiring devices identification 8. Miscellaneous identification products B. Refer to the respective Division 26 Sections, and Sections in other Divisions that specify electrical components, for additional electrical identification requirements. A. Section includes acceptance testing requirements for assessing the suitability for service and reliability of the power distribution system. B. Contractor to ensure all tested electrical equipment, both Contractor and Owner supplied, is operational and within industry and manufacturer's tolerances and is installed in accordance with design specifications. C. Tests and inspections shall be performed after installation. D. Tests and inspections shall determine suitability for energization. E. Electrical systems shall pass tests prior to substantial completion or Owner occupancy. F. This specification requires Contractor to engage services of testing agency. G. All tests tables referenced in this specification provided in Section 26 0813 - Power Distribution Acceptance Test Tables. H. Items to be tested and inspected as follows: 1. 600-volt conductors and cables 2. Electrical metering 3. Engine generator 4. Dry type transformers (small) 5. Switchboard 6. Low-voltage power circuit breakers 7. Low-voltage insulated-case/molded-case circuit breakers 8. Low-voltage disconnect switches 9. Automatic transfer switches 10. Motor control and motor control center 11. Ground fault protection systems 12. Grounding systems 13. Protective relays (as applicable) 14. Instrument transformers 15.
