Pavement Rehabilitation Program (PRP) South Corridor S01. The proposed improvement is part of the public highway system in the County of Cook (County Code: 031), State of Illinois (State Code 017), located by section and route below mentioned, and is indicated on the map showing the County Highway System on file in the office of the County Clerk and also in the office of the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, Springfield, Illinois. The project is located along the following corridors: o 119th Street - Kedzie Avenue to Western Avenue for a total distance of 4,321 feet (0.8 mile) in Worth and Lake Township. o 171st Street - Ashland Avenue to Halsted Avenue for a total distance of 5,546 feet (1.1 mile) in Thornton Township. o Central Avenue (N) - 167th Street to 159th Street for a total distance of 5,350 feet (1 mile) in Bremen Township. o Central Avenue (S) - Flossmoor Road to 183rd Street for a total distance of 4,534 feet (0.9 mile) in Rich Township. o Michigan City Road - 154th Street to State Line Road for a total distance of 12,159 feet (2.3 miles) in Thornton Township. o Ridgeland Avenue (N) - Vollmer Road to Moline Expressway (I-80) for a total distance of 9,119 feet (1.7 miles) in Rich Township. o Ridgeland Avenue (S) - Sauk Trail to Lincoln Highway for a total distance of 7,741 feet (1.5 miles) in Rich Township. DESCRIPTION OF IMPROVEMENT The improvements consist of milling and resurfacing of HMA roadways, pavement patching, curb and gutter removal and replacements, median removal, construction of sidewalk ramps, roadway culvert and storm sewer cleaning, guardrail improvements, pavement marking updates, and shoulder improvements.
