Renovation of an educational facility in Prairie Village, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.
Prequalified bidders are invited to submit bids for the SMSD 2026 Roof Improvements project at Indian Hills Middle School, located at 6400 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208, for Shawnee Mission School District, USD 512. The bid is for a General Contract covering all trades. Bids must be fully executed, signed, and sealed according to provided instructions. Bid security of 5 percent of the bid amount (including all additive alternates) is required for bids of $15,000 or greater. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Bidders shall begin the work upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and complete the work within the specified contract time. Time is of the essence; substantial completion must be achieved by July 17, 2026, with final completion by July 24, 2026. Liquidated damages will apply for delays: $1,000 per day for the first week after the substantial completion date and $5,000 per day after July 24, 2026. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain necessary insurance and bonds. Performance Bonds, Labor and Material Payment Bonds, and acceptable insurance will be required from the successful bidder.
