Demolition, site work and addition to a detention facility in Leesburg, Virginia. Design plans call for the addition of a detention facility; for the demolition of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
This critical infrastructure project will enhance our capacity to maintain public safety while providing improved conditions and rehabilitation opportunities for inmates. The expansion will include: • 4 new housing units designed for programming and mental health • Kitchen and laundry area renovation and capability enhancement • Addition of a maintenance building to replace temporary structures • Administrative area expansion As of June 15, 2026, this project is in the design phase. Construction is expected to start this summer and be completed in May of 2028.
