Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Atlanta, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
MARTA is seeking quotes from Firms to perform sealcoating, crack sealing, pothole repairs, vegetation removal, and restriping of existing asphalt at designated overflow and station parking lots. Any questions regarding this procurement must be submitted in writing to MARTA's contact person, Nathaniel Edmonds, Contract Specialist II via electronic mail at nedmonds@itsmarta.com, on or before 3:00 p.m. (local time) on 12/15/2025. Questions submitted after the designated period will not be considered by MARTA. 1.Surface Preparation: ii. Clean asphalt of all dirt, debris, and vegetation. iii. Remove grease, oil, and gasoline spots using soap and water, then prime as directed by manufacturer. Pothole Repair: 1. Saw cut asphalt at least 6" beyond damaged areas in all directions, ensuring square or rectangular shapes. 2. Fill with Type S III hot mix asphalt and compact to provide smooth transitions. 3. Cold patch may only be used with MARTA approval. Crack Sealing: 1. Use SealMaster or approved equivalent asphalt-based sealant designed to prevent water intrusion. 2. Apply with manufacturer-approved equipment capable of maintaining correct temperature and agitation. 3. Blotting material such as cement dust may be applied as required. Vegetation Removal: 1. Vegetation must be removed and sterilized using a propane torch or herbicide application (with MARTA approval). 2. No vegetation may remain prior to final sweeping. Seal Coating: 1. Apply two coats of SealMaster or approved equal per manufacturer specifications. 2. Protect curbs, sidewalks, fences, and adjacent property from overspray. 3. Surface must be completely clean and dry prior to coating. 4. Sealed areas must remain barricaded during curing, as directed by the manufacturer. Striping: 1. Apply pavement markings consistent with MARTA standards. 2. Traffic flow, spacing, and colors must be approved by MARTA prior to installation. C. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall comply with: 1. OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 (construction safety regulations) 2. EPA 40 CFR (environmental protection standards) 3. Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Environmental Protection Division (EPD) regulations 4. Georgia DOT work zone safety requirements
