The Phase II ESA scope of work included the following tasks: o Completed a Site-specific Health & Safety Plan reviewed and completed by McElhanney field personnel and subcontractors. o Project management, coordination, and Client communication. o Selected investigation locations in the field by McElhanney personnel (note: locations identified on Figure 2. The approved scope allowed for flexibility in the field assessment for "field fit" locations). The investigation locations were completed in conjunction with utility locating and clearance activities. o Completion of an Alberta One Call and underground utility locates. o Advancement of twenty-four (24) boreholes, eleven (11) of which were completed as stick-up groundwater monitoring wells outlined in Figure 2, using a solid stem auger. Each borehole was logged using the Modified Unified Soil Classification System for soil type, colour, density, moisture content, staining, odour, and other relevant observations in general accordance with McElhanney's Soil Classification Manual. o Drilling depths did not exceed twelve (12) mbgs. o Soil samples were collected from boreholes at regular depth intervals or where geological units change, including the collection of blind field duplicate (BFD) samples at a rate of approximately one (1) in ten (10) for quality assurance/ quality control purposes. All soil samples were field screened for levels of volatiles at the time of sample collection using a handheld photoionization detector (PID). o Submission of two hundred-eleven (211) representative soil samples, of which, eighty-nine (89) soil samples including fifteen (15) BFDs, were submitted for laboratory analysis of select PCOCs by ALS Canada Ltd. (ALS). Samples were selected from each borehole for laboratory analysis based on field observations and measurements. o Well development was completed on all all eleven (11) newly installed monitoring wells, and the unknown monitoring well (CENTRE_MW05), observed on Site. o Hydraulic conductivity testing was completed on six (6) monitoring wells due to limited or no water observed in the remaining monitoring wells. o Groundwater sampling was completed for all eleven (11) installed groundwater monitoring wells and analysis of thirteen (13) samples for PCOCs by ALS, including one (1) BFD. An unknown monitoring well observed on-Site during the Phase I ESA will also be sampled. o Submission of all samples to ALS for laboratory analysis on a regular turnaround time (5-7 business days). o Soil cuttings from boreholes were backfilled into the holes. Cuttings from the groundwater well installation were packed around the well. Off-site disposal of soil cuttings was not included. o Preparation of this Phase II ESA report outlining the field activities, methodology, analytical results, discussion, conclusions, and recommendations.
