MVTA Background MVTA provides daily fixed route transit service with a fleet of approximately 170 buses to its member cities, including a substantial amount of service that extends beyond its borders. Express service connects MVTA’s communities with Minneapolis, Saint Paul, the University of Minnesota, and various suburban cities. Local service connects with regional transit services at the Mall of America and 46th Street Light Rail Station. In addition, MVTA provides on-demand service within the cities of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount, and Savage. Transit service operates at fourteen transit stations and park and rides throughout MVTA’s service area, in addition to hundreds of bus stops. MVTA owns two operations and maintenance facilities. 3.
