Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The work under this Contract consists of repair of Pier 4 of Burlington Northern Bridge No. 9 (MnDOT Bridge 94246) over the Mississippi River near River Mile 853.0. The repairs of Pier 4 primarily consist of installation of micropiles within a permanent filled protection caisson, construction of an associated pile cap on top of the caisson fill and sealing Pier 4 pier cap. Pier 4 is water bound within the Mississippi River. Access to Pier 4 may be obtained from an existing catwalk running from Pier 5 to Pier 4, and/or from the bridge deck and/or from barges at the Contractors preference. In 1999, the former railroad bridge was converted to a pedestrian bridge. Under previous contracts repair and strengthening of Piers 2, 3, 5, 4, 6 and 7 and Abutment 1 have been completed. Additionally, the concrete deck on the approach spans have been replaced.
