The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) commonly referred to as Metro, is seeking proposals to provide bus stop shelter installation services at bus stops throughout SORTA's service area, which includes Hamilton County and parts of the surrounding areas (Warren, Butler, and Clermont counties, respectively). As bus stops are the first contact many transit users have with the system, it is critical that bus stop shelters are uniform in appearance, clean, safe, and attractive. SORTA: Secured federal funding for the installation of 51 bus stop shelters (Phase One). Continues to seek grant funding and anticipates receiving additional Federal funding. The additional funding would support up to an additional 149 bus stop shelters (Phase Two). Reserves the right to add or delete bus stop locations at its discretion during the term of the contract. See "Attachment "A - BusShelterPlan_Install" SORTA bus stops are in a variety of urban, suburban, and rural environments across several different jurisdictions throughout Hamilton County. The 200 bus stops which need shelter represent approximately 7% of SORTA's current 3,800 bus stops. Some of the bus stop locations are on public right of way and others may be located on private property. The successful contractor shall procure, store, permit, install/construct bus shelters and related concrete bus stop pads consistent with Local, State, and Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. The undersigned Bidder agrees to execute a contract for this work in the above amount and to furnish a 10% Bid Bond. Following such negotiations, SORTA may request one or more of the firms in the highly competitive range to submit a Best and Final Offer, which will be evaluated by the evaluation team and a firm selected for award. SORTA reserves the right to accept proposals other than the lowest cost offered, reject any and all proposals, or to negotiate separately with any proposer or proposers as deemed to be in SORTA's best interest. SORTA also reserves the right to waive informalities, make an award on the basis of initial proposals received without discussions or negotiations. Initial proposals, therefore, should represent the proposers' best effort to meet SORTA's needs at a reasonable price.
