Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Guttenberg, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8 and as specified by the Owner. The bid security shall be 10 percent of the total amount of the Bid. Improvements to address poor surface drainage conditions in front of Clayton Ridge High School on South River Park Drive. Work will be performed on South River Park Drive between Goethe Street and Pearl Street. Primary construction items include storm sewer, pavement replacement, sidewalk ramps, utility adjustments, pavement markings and traffic control. The improvements shall be kept and maintained in good repair for a period of 2 years after final acceptance of the project by the Owner. Work will be performed on South River Park Drive between Goethe Street and Pearl Street. Bids will be received for a single prime contract and shall be on a unit price basis. The project shall be Substantially Complete when all curb and asphalt has been placed and South River Park Drive and all side streets are open to traffic. Work is to commence with an early start date as specified in a written Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed for failing to meet the substantial completion or final payment deadlines. Bid security in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid is required, and a Bidder Status Form must be included with the bid. Sales tax should not be included in the bid, as exemption certificates will be provided. The improvements are to be kept and maintained in good repair for a period of 2 years after final acceptance by the Owner. Bidding documents can be obtained from the Engineer's office or the designated website, and prospective bidders are encouraged to register as plan holders on the designated website to receive official notifications and addenda. The City of Guttenberg reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. The Engineer will provide staking for grading, paving, and municipal utilities (Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer & Water Main) on a one-time basis. Stakes will be placed as specified. The Contractor shall assign a single point of contact to request staking, in writing, and generally define a construction plan that communicates the anticipated steps of construction to plan and prepare staking. The Contractor shall be responsible for preserving stakes. Any re-staking or additional staking not explicitly described above shall be done by the Engineer at the Contractor's expense.
