The work includes the installation of a new sanitary sewer main, with varied diameters ranging from 8" to 15". Portions of the sewer main are to be bored along North Ridge Road (S.R. 20). The project also includes lateral service connections, pavement repair and restoration, and various other items. All work under this contract must be completed within 210 days of Notice to Proceed. Prospective bidders must purchase a Bidder's Package, consisting of one full-size set of plans (24"x36") and one specification book, for $125.00, exclusive of shipping charges, to be considered a bidder. Payment for packages and any additional plans or specification books will not be refunded. The bid must be accompanied by an original sealed document in the form of a bond for the full amount (100%) of the bid, or by a certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, drawn on a solvent bank located in Lake County and payable to the Treasurer of Lake County, Ohio. This is to ensure that, if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. Each bid must contain the full name of every party or all parties submitting the proposal, and evidence of experience on projects of similar size and complexity. All contractors and subcontractors must comply with equal employment opportunity requirements. Wage rates for each employee must comply with prevailing wage rates for Public Improvements as provided by the appropriate sections of the Ohio Revised Code. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and disregard nonconforming, nonresponsive, or conditional bids. Bids may be held for up to sixty (60) days after the date of bid opening, and the successful bidder will be required to execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award and provide acceptable bond or surety for the faithful performance of the contract in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid. If the contract is not executed or the required bond/surety is not provided, the bidder may be liable for the difference between their bid and the next lowest bid, not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the amount bid.
