PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Finance and Administration Cabinet, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration (DECA), on behalf of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), is soliciting proposals from qualified professional design firms for the renovation of the existing rest area facility located at 159 Natural Bridge Road in Slade, Kentucky. The project includes interior renovations and comprehensive exterior envelope improvements to address building deterioration, water-intrusion issues, energy efficiency, aging systems, and overall visitor experience. Scope of services will include assessment of existing conditions, architectural and engineering design, ADA and code compliance upgrades, roofing and façade repairs or replacement, interior finish updates, building systems modernization, construction documents, cost estimating, and construction administration services. The selected Design Team will coordinate closely with DECA and KYTC to develop a cost-effective and durable renovation solution that extends the useful life of the facility and ensures compliance with all applicable codes and regulatory requirements. The Commonwealth reserves the option to increase the scope of services under this RFP if needed and as funding allows.
