The project involves the complete modernization and restoration of Elevator S7 at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, testing, and documentation necessary to replace outdated elevator components with new, non-proprietary, code-compliant systems. Additional tasks include replacing traveling cables, shaft wiring, hoist cables, overspeed governor, safeties, guide rollers, buffer springs, and installing a rope gripper safety device. Pit upgrades include new lighting and GFCI receptacle. All work must comply with OSHA, NFPA, NYC Department of Buildings codes, ADA requirements, and VA specifications, while minimizing disruption to active canteen operations. The contractor shall coordinate shutdowns, adhere to infection control and safety protocols, and provide third-party testing and inspection. Deliverables include shop drawings, weekly progress updates, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranty documentation, and final inspection certificates. The estimated performance period is 180 calendar days, with an anticipated elevator downtime of approximately 16 weeks. Location: Brooklyn VA Medical Center, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209. Estimated Construction Cost Range: $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
