Renovation of a mixed-use development in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a data center facility.
Renovation Takes place in 4 separate areas: The CCSPA area at Founder's Hall, the renovation of the Nursing Education Area at New Main, and the CLA Renovation at Saint John's Hall. Renovation of an existing data closet and storage space into a larger data closet and modified storage area. Bid the specified item, or contact the architect for approval before bidding. Approval must be in an addendum. Do not bid voluntary items. This is a PREVAILING WAGE project. A. These Division 23 specifications define the statutory, administrative, procedural, and technical requirements of the mechanical and controls modifications, replacements, and/or upgrades products and services to be provided on this Subcontract. B. Provide HVAC work as indicated on the Drawings and specified in Division 23 including: 1. Prepare coordination drawings, shop drawings, submittals, as-built drawings, and operating and maintenance instructions. 2. Determine items and quantities required. 3. Provide complete, continuous, operational, and functioning systems. 4. Fully coordinate with work of other Sections, including field verification of elevations, dimensions, clearance, and access. 5. The contractor shall be responsible for field verifying and installation of equipment on roof to maintain minimum 10ft clearance from all roof edges. 6. Repair of all damage done to premises as a result of this installation and removal of debris left by those engaged in this installation. 7. Rigging, hoisting, transportation, and associated work necessary for placement of equipment in the final location shown. 8. Disassembly and re-assembly of equipment furnished under this Section, should this be required in order to move equipment into final location shown on the Drawings. 9. Labor, materials, tools, appliances and equipment that are required to furnish and install the complete installation for this section of the work including that which is reasonably inferred. 10. Cooperation with other crafts in putting the installation in place at a time when space required is accessible. 11. Temporary scaffolding necessary for performance of the work in this Division. 12. Cutting and core drilling required for work of Division 23, including locating of rebar or coordination of locating rebar with the General Contractor and/or other contractor responsible for this work under this project. 13. Pipe sleeves for all holes in walls, floors, and ceilings, and cutting of floor slabs and slabs on grade. 14. Waterproofing where necessary for installation under this Division. 15. Cooperation with and assistance to the Facilities Monitoring and Control System Contractor as required to provide a complete and functional HVAC system. 16. Counterflashing of roof penetrations for work of Division 23. 17. Sizes, and locations for installation of any curbs and pads for work of Division 23. 18. Temporary and permanent stands and supports for equipment requiring them including vibration isolation. 19. Temporary protection of existing installation. 20. Stenciling and equipment identification. 21. Firestopping of penetrations of ducts, piping, and conduits through walls, floors, and ceiling assemblies. 22. Temporary utilities as required to install work on Division 23 including lighting, water, gas, electricity, etc. 23. Pay of all fees, permits, inspections, taxes, and approach from agencies that have jurisdiction over installation of Division 23. 24. Air and water balancing. 25. Participation in and coordination with the Commissioning process. 26. Warranty. A. The work included under the Electrical Scope of work shall consist of furnishing labor and materials necessary for the complete installation of electrical systems shown on the Contract Documents and as defined and described in the specifications. B. Include minor items which are obviously and reasonably necessary to complete the installation and usually included in similar work whether or not specifically mentioned in the Contract Documents. C. Deviations due to a particular manufacturer's requirements shall be provided at no additional cost to the Owner. Electrical equipment dimensions/sizes shall be verified by this Contractor to fit into the space provided prior to shop drawing submittal. D. Where material quantities are shown, they are for the convenience of the Contractor only. The Contractor shall be responsible to verify all quantities and include as required for a complete installation. E. Arrange with the appropriate Utility Companies to provide temporary and permanent Utility Services as required and coordinate their installation with the construction progress of this project. Coordinate exact requirements with each Utility and provide all components necessary for a complete and proper installation. F. Provide both temporary and permanent permits and licenses required for the completion of the work included under this contract. Fees and associated expenses required to obtain such permits shall be paid for by this Contractor. G. Provide inspections as required by the regulating agencies or where required by Code. Include and pay for all charges, fees, etc and associated costs for inspection agencies. Provide a Certificate of Final Inspection by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and submit a copy to the Engineer/Owner. A. Provide the disconnection and removal of electrical materials and equipment for relocation, salvage and proper disposition of items in accordance with the Contract Documents. B. Provide the disconnection, removal and protection of Equipment that is to be relocated. Refer to the plans for additional information.
