A certified check for five percent (5%) of the bid price, payable to the Calvert County Treasurer shall be accepted in lieu of a Bid Bond. Bids submitted without a Bid Bond or certified check shall not be considered. The Bid Bond or check of the Contractor to whom the Contract is awarded shall be forfeited to Calvert County Government as liquidated damages in case the Contract and surety are not executed within ten (10) business days after receiving the Contract for execution.
