The intent of this Request for Qualification (RFQ) is to seek statements of qualifications (Responses) from parties (the Respondents) interested in constructing a recycling depot, staff office and scale system at the Langley Recycling and Waste Centre. More specifically, the intent of this RFQ is to short-list up to five (5) Respondents to participate in a Request for Proposal for constructing a recycling depot and ancillary works; however, the Corporation reserves the right to short-list a greater number of Respondents. The General Contractor is required to construct and commission a completed recycling depot, including buildings and weigh scale system on the existing Langley Recycling and Waste Centre site, including procurement, installation, coordination and construction of all aspects of the scope as described in this document. The General Contractor (GC) will be the Prime Contractor responsible for coordination of work of all trades and sub-trades, as well as site safety. The GC will also be responsible for coordinating the Work of this Contract with any activities happening concurrently on site. The services of the recycling and waste centre are to remain operational during construction, therefore coordination with the operating contractor (GFL) is also required.
