Sealed bids are requested for the Airfield Lighting Replacement project at Valley International Airport. Bids must be completed, signed in ink, and submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the project name, bidder's name, address, and telephone number. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price. The original and two copies of the bid are required. Performance and Payment Bonds are mandatory, and the successful bidder must also provide a warranty for defects of material and workmanship for the calendar year following acceptance of the construction. Bidders are responsible for examining the site, proposal, plans, and all requirements. The successful bidder must submit a Certification of Nonsegregated Facilities and notify subcontractors of this requirement for subcontracts exceeding $10,000. Bids must comply with Buy American Preferences, and only domestic steel and manufactured products may be used, with specific exceptions. There is a DBE contract goal of 4 percent, and bidders must make good faith efforts to achieve this, submitting detailed information on DBE participation as required. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the contract to the most responsive and responsible bidder, as determined to be in the Owner's best interest.
