Site work and new construction of a recreation facility in Conroe, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade recreation facility.
This project involves the complete construction and installation of a prefabricated building, concrete slab foundation, perimeter fencing, and access gates to support the development of a new public recreational archery range. The contractor shall provide a turnkey solution that includes all labor, materials, equipment, engineering, and services necessary to deliver a fully operational and code-compliant facility. The prefabricated building and concrete slab foundation must be designed and constructed with structural engineering plans signed and sealed by a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. The scope of work also includes furnishing and installing all fencing and gates as shown in the project exhibit, ensuring durability, safety, and adherence to applicable standards. All required permits are the sole responsibility of the contractor, who must obtain, coordinate, and pay for all permits prior to beginning construction. The completed project must meet all federal, state, and local regulations and comply with the specifications outlined in the Request for Proposals. The City seeks to partner with a qualified vendor capable of delivering a high-quality, long-lasting facility that supports public use and contributes to the City's long-term recreational goals. Question Deadline 01/05/2026 at 2:00 PM CT This project consists of constructing and installing a prefabricated Pole Barn Structure, concrete slab foundation, perimeter fencing, and access gates for a new public archery range. The City of Conroe is repurposing existing City property to create a safe and functional recreational facility. The contractor shall provide a turnkey, code-compliant installation, including all labor, materials, equipment, and engineering services. All structural and slab designs must be signed and sealed by a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. The scope includes furnishing and installing fencing and gates as shown in the project exhibit. The contractor is responsible for obtaining and paying for all required permits before starting work. All completed work must meet applicable federal, state, and local regulations and conform to the specifications outlined in this RFP. The City seeks a qualified vendor capable of delivering a durable, high-quality facility for long-term public use. The selected proposer shall provide a turnkey installation that includes, but is not limited to, the following components: I. Prefabricated Pole Barn Style Structure (See Exhibit D for Specifications) o Provide and construct a prefabricated Pole Barn Style Structure. o Building design, structural components, and installation must be signed and sealed by a Licensed Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. o Materials shall meet or exceed local building code requirements and industry standards for public use facilities. o Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, and materials for complete installation. II. Concrete Slab o Design and construct a concrete slab foundation suitable for the prefabricated building and intended use. o All slab design documents must be signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Texas. o Work shall include site preparation, excavation, compaction, forming, reinforcement, pouring, and finishing. o Slab must meet minimum structural and drainage requirements as specified by governing building codes. III. Fencing and Gates Gated Entrance (See Exhibit B) o Design and construct a rustic-style entrance structure consistent with natural or timber aesthetics. o Materials may include heavy timber and treated wood, designed to match the rustic theme. o Install main entrance gate(s), manual or automatic as specified by the City. o Provide all associated hardware, posts, hinges, locking mechanisms, and support structures. o Main entrance must be designed to accommodate the appropriate width and height for fire apparatus access in accordance with the 2009 International Fire Code. o Gates must have the appropriate knox lock(for manual entrance gate) or Knox switch(for automatic gate) approved by the fire department. o Design must be submitted showing compliance with the 2012 International Building Code which includes structural integrity, design loads, and footings. Fence (See Exhibit C) o Provide and install fencing consistent with the rustic style of the entrance, which may include splitrail, natural wood, pipe fencing, or other approved rustic materials. o Fence height, linear footage, and layout will be provided in project exhibit o All posts shall be securely set to proper depth and alignment to ensure long-term durability. Gates (See Exhibit A for locations) o Install gates as required for maintenance access, emergency access, or trail user access. o Gates shall match or complement the design and materials of the fence and entrance. o Include all latching, hinge hardware, and safety features. Trail Crossings (See Exhibit A for locations) o Construct trail crossings at designated locations where fencing intersects existing or planned trails. o Crossings must allow safe and accessible passage for pedestrians, cyclists, or maintenance vehicles as applicable. o Provide durable materials that match the aesthetic of the project while ensuring long-term functionality. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
