Site work, paving, outdoor lighting, new construction and renovation of a military facility in Helena, Montana. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 6,503-square-foot military facility; for the renovation of a 2,802-square-foot military facility; for site work for a military facility; for outdoor lighting for a military facility; and for paving for a military facility.

PROJECT SCOPE: The Civil Support Team (CST) Ready Building Addition/Alteration is anticipated to be a Federal Fiscal Year 2028 construction project to support the Montana Army National Guard at Fort Harrison, Montana. National Guard Bureau has authorized design to commence in March of 2026. The proposed facility will house mission critical equipment as well as personnel assigned to the MTARNG’s CST Ready Building. To construct a 6,503 SQFT and remodel 2,802 SQFT of CST Ready Building, that supports individual and collective training, administrative, automation and communications, and logistical requirements for MTARNG’s Civil Support Team. This facility will be built on the Federal Military Installation known as Fort William Henry Harrison in Helena, MT. (Current Mission). The facility will meet industry standards as well as all local, State, and Federal building codes. Construction will include all utility services, information systems, fire detection and alarm systems, aprons, walks, curbs, gutters, storm drainage, and site improvements. Facilities will be designed to a minimum life of 50 years in accordance with DoD's Unified Facilities Code (UFC 1-200-02) including energy efficiencies, building envelope and integrated building systems performance as per ASA(IE&E) Sustainable Design and Development Policy updated 2017. Antiterrorism measures in accordance with the DoD Minimum Antiterrorism for building standards will be provided. The design of the facilities will follow the principles of LEED with a Silver rating requirement. The CST Ready Building will be situated to facilitate minimal utility runs, avoid floodplains and to connect to existing access. Rigid pavement will be used for aprons, sidewalks, and curbing. As of February 25, 2026, an issuance of short-listed firms has not been released. Design work is expected to begin in March 2026. A 35% design approval milestone must be reached by August 2026, and the full design must be completed no later than August 2027.
