The scope of work consists of repairing one Trane RTAA140 screw-compressor-type Water Chiller (Chiller #2), located on the rooftop of the Dewatering and Drying Facility, Building 258, at the Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility. The work includes draining the two parallel cooling circuits of refrigerant compressor oil and recycling the refrigerant for re-use; removing and disposing of both screw compressors and their corresponding electrical contactors (to be delivered to the Owner), as well as all condenser coils and headers; cleaning the shell-and-tube evaporator’s heat exchange surfaces and cleaning refrigerant oil leakage residue from components to remain; installing new screw compressors, new electrical contactors, and new condenser coils with headers, and painting coil casings and headers to match existing; replacing the evaporator’s insulation and gasket seals, two refrigerant filter drier cores, and approximately 50 feet of gasket sealing on all electrical cabinet doors; recharging and topping up the cooling circuits with R-22 refrigerant (recycled and/or new, 130 lbs. per circuit) and compatible compressor oil (new, seven gallons per circuit); and conducting a 7-day test run of Chiller #2 following repairs.
