Renovation of a mixed-use development in Franklin Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 29,135-square-foot educational facility; and 28,751-square-foot educational facility.
As of January 26, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. The project will not be awarded until reviewed and hopefully approved at the next District Board meeting scheduled for mid/late February. The project consists of the repair and restoration of existing graveled coal tar built-up roofs (BUR), including flashing renovations as specified and detailed, at Hester Junior High School (28,751 SF) and/or Passow Elementary School (29,135 SF) in Franklin Park, IL. No roof replacement is anticipated based on Infra-Red testing. The scope includes installation of new sheet metal copings and counter flashings, and all related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disconnects and re-connects, according to specifications and drawings prepared by C. E. Crowley & Associates, Inc. All work requires a two-year contractor warranty and a ten-year manufacturer warranty for specified restoration systems. Bidding contractors are required to attend a mandatory pre-proposal walk-through. All bids must be submitted on forms provided in the project manuals, in hard copy, and addressed as specified.
