A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Project consists of the removal and disposal of existing CMP riser, clearing and grubbing, erosion, sediment and pollution control, dewatering, and placement of new concrete riser structure and metal catwalk. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The work consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary for the construction of three underground stormwater vaults and associated site improvements per specifications and drawings. Bidders must meet the General Contractors License requirements of the State of South Carolina, with the license number displayed on the bid envelope. The contractor and all subcontractors are required to have a City of Aiken Business License, with the contractor providing a list of subcontractors to the Business License Administrator. All proposals must include a certified check or bid bond for at least 10% of the total bid amount. The successful bidder must provide a performance and payment bond, each for 100% of the agreement amount. No bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after submission. The City of Aiken reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informality, re-advertise, and add additional work. Bidders may appeal a bid award in writing within three business days of notification, detailing the grounds for protest and the relief requested.
