The project consists of the removal and replacement of approximately 2,500 Automatic Meter Reader (AMR) registers on pit mounted water meters. Work includes removal and replacement of meter registers, installation of antennas, replacement of pit lids where needed, cleaning of meter pits and coordination with the Town for integration of the new meters into their billing software, all work shall occur within the Town of New Chicago. This bid is for labor and equipment, materials to be provided by the Town of New Chicago. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid proposal form provided, accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Certified Check or Bid Bond payable to the Owner in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid. Each bid shall include Indiana State Form 96, including financial information and all other required forms as described in the bidding documents. Bidder shall be certified to do work in the State of Indiana. Additional Bidding requirements are in the Instructions to bidders included in the Project Documents. The bidder awarded the contract will be required to furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price before commencing work. The Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period. In addition a Warranty Bond in the amount of ten (10%) will be required for a period of three (3) years prior to the final acceptance by the Owner. The project will be financed through the Indiana Finance Authority through the State Revolving Fund. Contractors are required to adhere to Davis Bacon Wage Rates throughout construction.
