Sealed bids are requested for the Tabor Avenue Watermain Replacement in the City of Maple Heights, Ohio. Bids must be submitted to the Purchasing Agent at Maple Heights City Hall. Documents, specifications, and drawings are available online and must be purchased to become a Registered Bidder. Each bid must include a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond as per Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code, either as a bank or cashier's check for ten percent (10%) of the amount bid or a bid bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder must provide a Surety Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid. Each proposal must include the full names of all parties submitting the proposal and evidence of experience on projects of similar size and complexity. The project must be completed by October 1st, 2026. Bidders must comply with prevailing wage rates as set by the Ohio Department of Commerce. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities. Sealed bids must be clearly marked with the project name. SCOPE The project consists of abandoning in place the existing water main and installation of new water main and all associated service connections and hydrants on Tabor Avenue between E 141st Street and Dunham Road in Maple Heights, Ohio. The project also consists of full depth pavement repair over top of the proposed water main trench on Tabor Avenue, E 141st Street, E 146th Street, and Dunham Road as shown in the plans. The scope of the project also involves removing trees, replacing concrete sidewalks, replacing drive aprons, and removing/replacing catch basins and storm sewers to facilitate the installation of the new water main and service connections. TREE REMOVAL GREATER/LESS THAN 12" DIAMETER - ITEM 1-2 This item includes the removal and disposal of trees or tree stumps greater/less than 12" caliper as designated on the plans or as directed in the field by the Engineer. 8" & 12" WATER MAIN w/POLYETHYLENE ENCASEMENT - ITEMS 3-4 This item shall consist of the installation of water mains, with polyethylene encasement, of the dimensions and in the locations shown on the plans. Included in this item is all pavement restoration (as per the Standard Details) and landscape restoration, the removal of existing water main and appurtenances where required, abandonment of existing water main and appurtenances as required, the installation of temporary flushing/chlorination assemblies, any work or materials incidental to testing and bringing on-line the new water main, and any required frost-proofing. Also included within this item shall be the installation of all water main fittings (bends, offsets, reducers, etc.) and fitting appurtenances (thrust blocks, mastic coatings, joint encasements etc.) as shown on the plans or as needed to complete the work as specified. Also included in this item is the connection to the existing water main at both ends of the project length. All mains, valves, and fittings shall be wrapped in polyethylene encasement. The Contractor shall install this item according to the specifications of and satisfaction of The Cleveland Water Department and the City of Maple Heights.
