Sealed proposals are requested for furnishing all necessary equipment, materials, and labor for improvements to the Silco Theater in Silver City, New Mexico. Bidders must include a Bid Bond of not less than 10% of the maximum bid, payable to the Town of Silver City. The successful bidder is required to provide a Performance and Payment Surety Bond for 100% of the total contract amount. Bidders are responsible for examining drawings and specifications, visiting the work site, and covering all items included in the contract proposal. Proposals must be submitted on the form issued by the Architect and changes or alternate proposals will result in rejection. The Owner intends to award the project to the lowest responsible bidder but reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical irregularities. Proposals must be sealed and delivered by the specified deadline. Plans and specifications may be obtained upon payment of a refundable deposit if returned in good condition. If plans are obtained but a bid is not submitted, the deposit is refundable only if plans are returned within five days. The Work consists of: 1. Historical Preservation: Provision and installation of new protective cover over the existing finishes and equipment in the entire facility. 2. Installation of a New Steel Rigging structure: Installation of new steel C-joists to form a solid frame above the stage for new theater equipment (curtain, lights, and rigging). 3. Stage Floor Replacement: Removal of existing wood planks and carpeting to install new wood planks, plywood. Remove existing ramp and install a new ramp and handrails. 4. Electrical work: Install electrical receptacles and junction box. 4. Alternate #1 - Stairs and Landing: Replace the stairs and landing at the West exit Backstage. 5. Alternate #2 - Stairs: Replace the stairs and walls from the Stage to the Basement. 6. Alternate #3 - Stage Equipment: Install curtain(s) and lights.
