Bid Package #1 is for Asbestos Abatement for the partial renovation of Lincoln Middle School. Bid Package #2 is for Asbestos Abatement for the partial demolition of Lincoln Middle School. Bids will be based on a single lump sum abatement. Bid Security is required in the amount of five percent of the proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the full amount of the bid accepted. Contractors and subcontractors must pay prevailing wages pursuant to the Wages of Employees on Public Works Act. The Illinois Preference Act applies on all public works projects. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding process, and to award a contract for any part of the work or the project as a whole. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at Lincoln Middle School, and attendance is required for bid consideration. Faxed and/or emailed bid proposals will not be accepted, and bids received after the stated time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Base Bid Work: The project scope of work for labor, materials and disposal of asbestos containing materials from the building in order to facilitate upcoming renovations. All work will take place in full containments. Abatement Contractor will have to perform select demolition in order to access asbestos containing building components. Abatement Contractor is responsible for the removal and disposal of all universal waste, bulbs and ballasts.. Abatement Contractor is responsible for the abatement of lead paint from the curtain wall for welding of new clips. Contractor is to perform all work following NESHAPS, OSHA and IDPH regulations. All work is to be completed as indicated on the drawings dated December 26, 2025.
