VDOT - A34 - SGR - Bridge Replacement (Route 759) Reference 21C43032; UPC 118430; Fed ID 7739) The project site is located on Route 759 (White Hall Road) south of the intersection with Starling Drive in Fluvanna County, Virginia. Asphalt paved Route 759 crosses Mechunk Creek via an existing two-span bridge approximately 60 ft long and 13.5 ft wide. The bridge deck is timber supported on steel girders. Details regarding the existing foundations are not available; however, we have assumed that the existing abutments and pier are supported on shallow foundations at least several feet below the existing creek bottom. The center pier consists of stone and mortar, and the slopes at each abutment consist of concrete with a stone veneer
