*As of March 9th,2026 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of Travelers Rest is requesting sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the procurement and installation of nine (9) solar-powered pedestrian lights along the Swamp Rabbit Trail . This project will improve trail safety, enhance nighttime visibility, and support public use of the corridor. Contractors must meet the following requirements: Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in solar/light pole installation Valid South Carolina contractor's license Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the City of Travelers Rest as Additional Insured Ability to obtain a City of Travelers Rest Business License prior to contract award Adequate general liability and workers' compensation insurance Successful performance on at least three comparable projects Anticipated Award: January 12th, 2026 Question Deadline 01/05/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Submit all questions in writing or electronically to: Phillip Tate Public Works Director Email: tate@travelersrestsc.com. Estimated Completion: Within 60 days of NTP The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. All submitted materials become public records. Contractors must verify site conditions before submitting proposals. Awards are contingent upon funding and required approvals. Contractor must provide a COI, naming the City as Additional Insured. Contractor must obtain a City of Travelers Rest Business License prior to commencing work.
