Sealed proposals are requested for Des Plaines HVAC Equipment Replacements. Bidders are required to attend a Pre-Bid Meeting at the City of Des Plaines Public Works Department to review the scope of the work and project specifications. Each bidder must carefully examine the provided contract form, inspect the work site and surrounding area, and familiarize themselves with all relevant conditions. Proposals must be made only on the attached contract form and include a price for each item in the Schedule of Prices. Proposals must be dated, signed by an authorized official, and accompanied by a cashier's or certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5 percent of the total contract price. Proposals may be rejected for omissions, irregularities, incomplete forms, or not following these instructions. Clarifications or changes to the request may be provided prior to the proposal opening. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the contract title and bidder's name, and late proposals will be returned unopened. Proposals will be opened publicly at the specified time and place. No proposal may be withdrawn for 45 days after opening. Acceptance or rejection of proposals is at the discretion of the Owner, based on criteria such as quality, reliability, capability, reputation, and expertise. The accepted proposal, with the Owner's notification, becomes the contract for the work.
