Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.
Three separate bid proposals are being accepted: District-Wide Improvements Projects Phase II, Hattiesburg High School Athletic Lighting Improvements, and N.R. Burger Middle School and S.T.E.A.M. Academy Weight Room Conversion. A single contract will be let for each complete project including all general construction. Bids are requested from qualified bidders, and while the intent is to award to the lowest qualified bidder, the Owner reserves the right to select the bidder they feel is best, which may not be the lowest bid. The Owner may accept alternates in any order or combination and determine the low bidder based on the sum of the base bid and accepted alternates as well as contract time. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive informalities and irregularities. Contract time, from notice to proceed until substantial completion, shall be specified by the bidder and may be considered in the final selection. Liquidated damages are $500.00 per day for project overrun. Bidders must be licensed by the State of Mississippi and indicate a valid Certificate of Responsibility number on the outside of the bid envelope for bids over $50,000.00. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to 5% of the bid amount, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond written by a company licensed in Mississippi. The successful bidder must furnish payment and performance bonds in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount by a company licensed in Mississippi. Proposals are only accepted on the provided Bid Form; all blanks must be completed legibly in ink. Bid submission represents that the bidder understands the plans and specifications and has assessed the site. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the specified project and contractor's Certificate of Responsibility number. No bid may be withdrawn for 45 days.
